Dr. Daniel Osborn is a licensed psychologist in the State of Texas and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. Before beginning his academic journey, Dr. Osborn served for three years in the United States Army as a combat engineer. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Houston–Downtown and went on to obtain a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University. While in graduate school, he began conducting psychological evaluations for a group practice in East Texas. Four years after completing his master’s degree, Dr. Osborn returned to school to pursue his doctorate in psychology.

During his doctoral training, Dr. Osborn completed his practicum at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s Jester IV psychiatric unit in Richmond, Texas, where he provided crisis management services. He finished his practicum hours at the Harris County Jail’s Cognitive Behavioral Program. He completed his internship at Summit Psychological Associates in Akron, Ohio, where he conducted competency to stand trial evaluations, not guilty by reason of insanity (NGRI) assessments, and co-led sex offender treatment and court-ordered anger management groups.

Dr. Osborn earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensics from Fielding Graduate University. After graduation, he served as the Mental Health Director at the Jefferson County Jail in Beaumont, Texas. In 2022, he established his private practice in Houston, Texas, focusing on forensic evaluations. Since then, Dr. Osborn has performed competency to stand trial and insanity evaluations for several counties across Texas. He has also been hired ex parte by both District Attorney’s offices and defense attorneys to assist with casework. Currently, he holds contracts with Texas Disability Services, Child Protective Services, and the Texas Civil Commitment Office, for which he conducts biennial sex offender evaluations. His experience also includes evaluations for county courts, attorneys, school districts, private clients, adoption and probation agencies, and various government bodies.

Additionally, Dr. Osborn has conducted fitness-for-duty evaluations and pre-employment screenings for police departments, fire departments, and other agencies. He has supervised Licensed Professional Counselor-Interns, providing guidance and training as they work toward their clinical hours. Dr. Osborn also taught General Psychology and Lifespan Development for nine years at both Angelina College and Lone Star College.
